Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how JAS Technology Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Signalz (the “App”), an application listed on the Shopify App Store and installed on a Shopify merchant store (“Store”). By installing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
This policy applies to merchants and authorized users who access the App through Shopify. If you are a consumer shopping on a merchant’s storefront, this policy does not govern your relationship with that merchant or Shopify; please review their respective privacy notices.
1. Roles: Shopify, merchants, and us
Shopify provides the platform and checkout your Store runs on. When you install the App on your Store, you are the “merchant” responsible for how customer and Store data is used. We process information as a service provider to you in order to operate the App, in accordance with Shopify’s terms and this policy.
2. Information we collect
We may collect and process categories of information such as:
- Shop and account identifiers — for example, your Shop domain, Shopify shop ID, and installation status for the App.
- Store and commerce data made available via Shopify — limited to what is necessary to provide features you enable (for example, orders, refunds, inventory, channels, or app settings), depending on the permissions (“scopes”) you grant at install or when you use specific features.
- Notification and integration settings — for example, phone numbers, email addresses, Slack workspace identifiers, channel preferences, quiet hours, and message content required to deliver alerts you configure.
- Technical and operational data — for example, timestamps, diagnostic logs, error reports, approximate device or network metadata, security signals, and usage information needed to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the App.
We do not require end-customers of your Store to interact directly with the App. If the App’s features process order or customer-related data that Shopify exposes to the App, we do so only on your behalf to provide the Service as configured by you.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and support the App and its features;
- Authenticate and secure the App, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and troubleshoot issues;
- Send service-related communications (for example, about incidents, security, or material changes to this policy where required);
- Improve reliability and performance, develop new functionality, and understand aggregate usage trends; and
- Comply with law, enforce our agreements, and respond to lawful requests.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If applicable laws (such as the GDPR or UK GDPR) require a “legal basis,” we rely on: (a) performance of our contract with you to provide the App; (b) our legitimate interests in securing and improving the App, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights; and (c) compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing and subprocessors
We may share information with:
- Shopify — as needed to install, authenticate, and operate a Shopify embedded app, and as described in Shopify’s agreements and policies.
- Service providers — vendors that host infrastructure, process messages or notifications, provide monitoring and security tools, analytics, or customer support tooling, bound by confidentiality and processing terms.
- Authorities — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information as those terms are commonly understood, and we do not use Store data to train third-party artificial learning models for unrelated purposes.
6. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you or your Store are located, including the United States and Canada. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
7. Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the App, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you uninstall the App, we will delete or anonymize merchant data within a reasonable period, subject to backup, legal, or security retention exceptions.
8. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls and encryption in transit where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to request data portability. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us using the details below. If you installed the App through Shopify, you can also uninstall the App from your Store, which will stop new data collection through the App subject to retention described above.
10. Children’s privacy
The App is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide notice as required by applicable law or Shopify’s requirements for App Store listings.
